REVIEW: LUSH Big Shampoo and American Cream Conditioner

Big Shampoo is one of my favourite products I've purchased from LUSH! I've been using it since December and it is my new HG shampoo! It makes my hair really shiny and soft. As far as volume, it does give me a little, but not as much as other shampoos I've tried. However, shampoos that give me more volume than Big tend to dry out my hair. Big doesn't dry out my hair at all. In fact, I find it super moisturizing to almost the point of over moisturizing my hair. I've read reviews where people have said this dried out their hair and I've had the complete opposite experience. If I let my hair air dry after I've used this, it starts looking greasy after a day. If I blow dry my hair I don't have this problem, so unfortunately I can't use this and not blow dry my hair. My hair never got dry, but my scalp did get irritated when I was using it too often. It became a bit itchy and I had a few flakes so I wouldn't recommend this as a daily shampoo.

The texture is really strange rubbing sea salt and citric juices through your hair but it does the trick and it rinses clean. My hair feels squeaky clean after using this. I also like the smell. Though it is a small tub, you only need such a tiny amount of product that it will last you a while and is worth the more expensive price tag. The only downside is that it leaves my hair full of tangles even after I condition it. After I shower I use a large tooth comb and run in through my hair. It just takes a few minutes longer to comb through my hair than usual.


This is probably too moisturizing for my hair. I only need such a tiny bit even for my long hair. I was at a concert and someone behind me said they smell hampster shavings and now everytime I use this I feel I smell like hampster shavings because it smells woody to me :( haha How embarrassing. However other people have said they like the way it smells, but of course my mind remembers the negative comment more. If you have dry hair I would definitely recommend this. I probably won't be repurchasing this just because there are other products out there that work better for me.

REVIEW: LUSH Honey I Washed the Kids & Rockstar Soap

Honey I Washed The Kids: This smells so good when using it in the shower. I wanted to take a bite of it. It didn't lather for me at all, but it lathered REALLY well for my boyfriend. He said because he has man hair on his arms and I don't (thank goodness! haha). After rinsing my body I ran my hands over my arms and they kind of skidded their way along. It wasn't smooth at all. After the shower my skin felt soft for 2 minutes and then once I dried fully I found it a bit drying!


Rockstar Soap

Rockstar: This is apparently one of their best sellers and many people like the smell, but I didn't care for it. It's not a bad smell, it's just not for me. I didn't even like it better when using it (like I did with every other product). This lathered a bit better than Honey I Washed The Kids, but with that said, it still didn't lather well. My skin was super smooth when I left the shower, but like Honey I Washed The Kids, it left my skin dry and itchy after a few minutes.

All-and-all I didn't have much success with the soaps. I probably won't be buying others, but I may ask for a sample of another kind next time I'm in LUSH just to see if I have the same problem. Have you had problems with their soaps leaving your skin dry? I find the only bar soap that doesn't leave my skin dry is Dove.

Toronto Haul: MAC, LUSH, FOREVER21...etc.

Sorry I've been MIA for over a week. I've been really busy finishing up shifts with my old job and getting ready for my new one. My last day was Saturday and I spent yesterday celebrating by going to Toronto with my besties and shopping! We are actually planning another trip back in about a months time to do some more damage. I still haven't posted my big FOREVER21.com haul, but I'm not sure if you want to see it? Let me know. I absolutely love haul posts and youtube videos, but that's just me. I know there are some people out there who don't care for them. I love to see what's out there because I rarely get to go shopping. I have been doing most of my shopping online which isn't the same thing. It's not as fun. Anyways, here is some picks of what I got. I'm at my parents house at the moment and didn't have my camera so the pictures aren't as good quality as I would like them to be, but you'll get the idea. What are some of your favourite purchases you have bought lately?

LUSH

From LUSH I picked up another Comforter Bubble Bar (because it's my favourite) and a different bath bomb, Vanilla Fountain (because I wasn't too impressed with the Sex Bomb last time I tried it). I also got a sample of Dream Cream (I want to buy this eventually but I have too many moisturizers at home that I'm determined to use them before I buy anything new). Also one of the sales ladies sold me on the "9 Products for $25" package. I wanted to buy a Fresh Face mask and I was looking at the Lemony Flutter cuticle butter so I figured, may as well just spend a bit more and get a bunch of random things in this package. You got to choose which Solid Shampoo you wanted, what face mask and face cream you wanted and everything else was the same in each package. I got the Seanik Solid Shampoo (for flat, dull hair), Cosmetic Lad Facial Moisturizer, and A Crash Course in Skincare Fresh Face Mask (brightens and tightens). I'm really excited to try all my goodies!

MAC PRO

From MAC I needed a new 15x palette because two of my palettes were full already and I had to use my quad to store eyeshadows (it was annoying me). I have no blue eyeshadows in my collection because blue eyeshadow use to scare me until I realized what magic it does for my green eyes. I bought Nehru, Deep Truth, Freshwater, Soft Brown and Gleam. I also got Pearl Cream Colour Base because I've never tried one and always wanted to. I love highlighters. I wanted to get By Candlelight MSF but they didn't have any so I will have to buy it online. I'm really excited to try out these eyeshadows!

LULULEMON ATHLETICA

I've wanted a pair of Lululemons for quite some time now, but really didn't want to spend $98 on a pair. I caved and bought myself some. I bought these specifically for work and I'll probably be ordering a couple more pairs because I love them so much! They are suppose to last for 5 years through serious workouts/exercise. I also got a headband because I always see girls with these and decided I needed to have one for myself.

H&M

Skinny jeans from H&M. These are really cute especially with the new boots I bought online from FOREVER21. I always think skinny jeans look unflattering on my body because I have such wide hips, big thighs and the skinniest lower legs and ankles ever! But these actually look alright because they weren't skin tight on my lower legs. I really want a pair in black and dark denim.

LA SENZA

A pair of sleep pants that are really light and airy. I also got some hand cream that smells like cupcakes. I seriously want to eat hands...

AMERICAN EAGLE

Never have bought a pair of aviators before because they are always the wrong shape and too pointy for my face. I have a pointy chin so anything that accentuates that is a bad thing, but these work really well with my heart shaped face because they are more rounded at the bottom.

DISNEY STORE

I like to have a green tea every morning. I'm trying to drink more of it because I find it really helps me lose weight and feel good. I love Tinkerbell and bought a big mug last time I was in Toronto with her on it and wanted to get another one. It's a little tradition I'm starting...and you can't have enough big mugs if you are a tea drinker like I am! I love Disney and all the old Disney movies (i.e., Aladdin, Little Mermaid, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast) so it always makes me feel like a little kid when I walk into that store.

COSTA BLANCA

I'm really into the colour blue at the moment (especially dark blue/navy). I don't own any scarfs, except for one winter one, and this looked beautiful so I had to buy one. It's really light and I can wear it fashionably as opposed to keeping me warm. I've never been into the whole scarf thing, but glad I picked one up. Also love this purple long sweater. It's going to be so cute with leggings.

FOREVER21

Jean Jacket I got on sale for $9.99 and the tank tops were $2.50 so I got some good deals. I needed some new black flats and these are really cute and can go with anything. My favourite purchase of the day is the military jacket. It is so soft and beautiful. I got the grey top to go with leggings. I'm obsessed with leggings. I'm also obsessed with hearts. On the zipper is a little jewel encrusted heart.
I love hearts so much that I even have a tattoo of one (my only tattoo) on my hip. I got this a few years ago with my two best friends. They got hearts on their wrists. I think tattoos that have a special meaning to the individual are the best. I know I will never regret having this because my friends and I are all connected forever through ink!

REVIEW: LUSH Star Melt Bath Melt

Sorry I haven't been posting as often as I usually do. December has been such a crazy month for me so far. I just had a family Christmas this weekend and also did a Christmas get-together with my besties. ALSO, the job I've been waiting to apply to has finally opened up some positions so I'm really hoping I get in. I've been really nervous and worried. I hope they call me for an interview! I think I'll get it because I do have experience, but I'm such a worrier! I need a nice bath...SO GLAD I HAVE SOME LUSH!


The Star Melt is a bath melt that smells like Snow Fairy shower gel. For those of you who haven't smelt Snow Fairy before, it basically smells like you are bathing in candy.


It starting melting instantly once I dropped it in. I picked it up and moved it around and it stained my fingers a bit, but that went away at the end of my bath.

It is a very milky bath (it was made with icing sugar!) and leaves your skin very smooth in and out of the tub. The water turns a beautiful coral/pinky colour and is very inviting. I will definitely repurchase this again. Too bad it's limited edition with the Holiday/Winter products. I would use this year round.

So far I love everything I tried. I'm not sure if I will be repurchasing the soaps I bought, but I will let you know why I won't be in my reviews on them. I definitely discovered some favourite products! I was sceptical of LUSH and didn't really get it at first, but I'm in love with the idea of organic, vegan, handmade products! If you haven't checked out LUSH yet, I would highly recommend you do.

Glam'in cilt bakımı ürünleri

Bir sene öncesine kadar cilt bakımı konusunda pek ilgili & bilgili değildim. Temizlemek, nemlendirmek yeterli geliyordu. Hala da gereken hassasiyeti göstermiyorum belki ama maşallah diyeyim cildimin sorunlu bir yapısı yok, şimdilik uyguladıklarımla herşey iyi gidiyor. Bunları sizlerle paylaşmak ve sizden de bazı öneriler almak istedim.

Cilt bakımında tercih ettiğim markalar Clinique ve Lush.

Başlarda yazdığım temizleme ve nemlendirme kısmına birkaç ürün daha eklendi. Clinique All about eyes göz altı nemlendiricisi, 7 day scrub cream ve anti blemish serisinden oil-control cleansing mask.

Daha önceleri de göz kremi kullanmıştım ama all about eyes gerçekten çok daha iyi sonuçlar verdi. Benim göz altlarım fazla yorgunluğa, ayakta kalmaya, üzüntü, stres vb şeylere hemen tepki verir, şişer, bazen morarır ve her daim görünen pek güzide(!) damarlarım bu görüntüye renk katar. O sebeple göz çevremi sürekli nemlendirmem ve bu bakımı hiç ihmal etmemem gerekiyor çünkü birazda genetik bir durum bu, halalarım sağolsun :) All about eyes kreme çok yoğun çalıştığım dönemde başlamıştım ve gerçekten ilerleme kaydettiğimi görebiliyorum, gözlerimdeki o yorgunluk görünümünü yok etti. Masaj etkili serum şeklinde olanı da şu aralar alacaklar listemde.

7 day scrub cream, 7 day ismine rağmen itiraf ediyorum hergün kullanamıyıyorum, evet zoruma gidiyor:) 7 gün olmasa da 3 ya da 4 gün mutlaka kullanıyorum. Cildimi yumuşacık yapıyor.

Haftada bir kullandığım oil-control cleansing maske ise apayrı bir güzellik. Kendileri kullandığım ilk maske oluyorlar:) İçinde doğal kil bulunuyor, ciltteki aşırı yağı ve parlamayı alıyor. 5 dakika bekletip temizliyorsunuz ve anında sonuç ortada. Tertemiz, porselen gibi bir cildiniz oluyor.

Yüz nemlendiricisi olarak uzun zamandır Lush'un Imperialis'ini kullanıyorum. Bahar ve yaz aylarında tamam ama kışın bu kremden artık bir sonuç alamadığımı farkettim. Kışın T bölgem aşırı kuru oluyor ve imperialis o kuruluğu gideremiyor. Kıruya dönük karma ciltler için daha iyi bir nemlendiriciye ihtiyacım var ve önerilerinize açığım :)

Tea tree water tonik cildimi rahatlatan bir ürün. Bazen pamuk ile temizliyorum bazen direk cildime sıkıp öyle bırakıyorum.

Lush'tan ne aldım?

Lush Lemony Flutter

Benim manikür fobim var, şu ana kadar hiç yaptırmadım, yaptırmaya da niyetim yok. O tırnak etlerini kesen makası görünce içim çekiliyor. Bu sebepten ötürü tırnak etlerimle kendi yöntemlerimle baş etmeye çalışıyorum.

Lemony Flutter'ı kış aylarında tırnak diplerim kabus gibiyken aldım, severek kullanıyorum.

Çok yoğun kıvamlı, buram buram kokan bir krem. Az miktarda kullanmak bile yeterli gelebiliyor. Tırnak diplerim kendinden mi geçmiş, hemen bir operasyon çekiyorum. 2-3 gün düzenli kullanınca güzelce toparlıyor. Oldukça yoğun yapılı olmasına rağmen sürüldükten sonra rahatsızlık vermiyor, vıcık vıcık yağlı bir his bırakmıyor. Ben ara sıra dirseklerime ve dizlerime de sürüyorum. Memnunum, benim tırnaklarıma iyi geldi, biterse ki çok zor görünüyor kesinlikle yeniden alırım. Benim gibi tırnak diplerindeki derilere manikürsüz savaş açmak isteyenlere öneririm

REVIEW: LUSH Comfortor Bubble Bar

Let me just start off by saying that EVERYTHING smells SOOO much better when you are actually using it in the bath or shower. I wasn't too crazy about the scents smelling the products in the store, probably because I was so overpowered by all the other smells, but alone, in particular the comfortor bubble bar, smells fantastic!

I cut the bubble bar in half with a large kitchen knife. It slide through easy enough, I didn't have to apply too much pressure. It did crumble a bit, but I saved the crumbles in the bag with the other half of the bar for my next use. You could probably get away with cutting it into quarters, but I wanted a good amount of bubbles.

Half the bubble bar made enough bubbles for me (about 1-3 inches thick across the entire tub). I crumbled it under running water, as directed. In the picture my bath is only about half full so more bubbles were being produced, but I couldn't wait to any longer to take the picture, I had to hop in! As you can see, the water is hot pink! The bubbles outlasted me in the tub (obviously not as much as I started with, but still a good amount once I left).

I took my bath at night and it was very relaxing. I had a minor setback however. I had candles burning and one of them had a cinnamon stick embedded in the wax and it caught on fire so at one point my bathroom smelt like something was burning... Not very relaxing. I won't be using that candle again!

I can't explain how much the scent changed for me once it was diluted by the water. I'm horrible at describing scents, but I really think I went to bed smelling like the candy "Wine Gums" (particularly the really dark coloured wine gum MmmMmmmMMmm lol). It was lovely. I will be repurchasing this next time I visit LUSH, hopefully later this month! I absolutely love this bubble bar and can't wait to try others!

My First LUSH Haul!

Hey beauties!
I was really excited to go to LUSH for my first time last night and I ended up leaving with a bag full of goodies. I could definitely smell the store a few stores away (my boyfriend actually had to leave at one point because he can't handle strong scents due to his asthma). In the end, I picked out a couple scents he liked as well, so hopefully he can get some use out of what I bought too. Also, I kinda wish I wouldn't have bought one thing and that I would have picked up another, but I'll get to that.

First of all, let me tell you what I ended up getting: Sex Bomb Bath Bomb, Butterball Gift (bought this as a gift for someone), American Cream Conditioner, Big Shampoo, Star Melt, Therapy Massage Bar, Comforter Bubble Bar, Honey I Washed the Kids Soap, and Rockstar Soap. I was actually planning on getting a lot more, but when I was in the store smelling everything, some things really didn't smell all that good to me. With that said, I don't have a very "refined" sense of smell, meaning I have yet to acquire a liking for that many smells so it was hard for me to pick out items to try. Some items I wanted for what they did, but they smelt bad. :( This aspect disappointed me, but I still ended up leaving with a fair bit of product. I kinda regret not picking up Dream Cream because I sampled it in the store and even now feeling my skin it STILL feels SOO soft and moisturized! I will have to pick it up next time I'm at LUSH. Also, the Rockstar soap smell I'm kinda not into now that I have it at my house. I have yet to use anything, so maybe I will change my mind on this. I was watching YouTube videos and reading reviews and Rockstar is apparently a very popular smell, yet it really doesn't do anything for me. Kinda makes me sick actually haha. Also, the room containing my LUSH bag smells of everything I bought now too! Anyways, here are some close up pictures of everything I purchased!
